Maybe looking for a maths tutor? Maths unfortunately has a reputation for difficulty and for not being useful in "real life". This is so much so the case that there is now a national program in Australia called "Choose Maths" to help encourage our young people to treat their maths studies seriously. However, in an increasingly technological world logical thinking is becoming increasingly valued. While your teenager may be complaining that they will "never use algebra in real life", the truth is that the logical thinking and problem solving skills developed through mathematics are extremely useful. Software development, engineering, artificial intelligence, genetics, data analytics, finance, insurance ... the list can go on and on. The future requires logical thinking and the only way to develop those skills is mathematics.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Ryan is very good at talking through his thought process out loud and is generally quite good at noticing any mistakes he makes when he does this. However, being a verbal learner, he needs to practise putting his thoughts on paper instead of doing all the working out in his head which can often leave him feeling confused.
Aseel has a strong work-ethic and a positive attitude towards learning. She comes to our sessions with an enthusiasm to learn, and her eagerness extends to her work habits, such as her homework assignments. I'm pleased to say that Aseel hasn't missed any of her tutor-assigned homework, and frequently completes them on the night they are assigned. It is clear to see that she applies herself thoroughly to her lessons, and her understanding of the subject matter has been improving because of it.
Fractions - James appears to have missed year 5 fraction work and our aim is to catch him up on that missed work. He also struggles with division a bit; he understands the process of how to complete questions but he needs to keep practising them to ensure the knowledge is concrete for tackling harder questions.
Ezymath tutoring was a fantastic company to tutor for. They were extremely helpful in a number of situations and were always able to answer a question promptly. The way in which they kept on making sure I was continually trained was a success through the use of biweekly CEP. Overall, I am very happy with having tutored with Ezymath and would recommend anyone to choose them, as a tutor or a student
I decided to start tutoring with EzyMath in order to gain some teaching experience while studying education at university. The confidence and knowledge this job has given me is second to none; working one on one with students can be a challenging experience, but it is endlessly rewarding. I was most impressed with how EzyMath provided ongoing support and learning programs to their tutors, providing us with teaching tips and skills to use with our clients. My best accomplishment during my time as a tutor would have been taking my ESL student from a C- in English to an A grade. I could see how pleased she was with herself, and the sense of achievement was shared between us. I encourage all education students to take on tutoring for extra experience, as it will provide you with a head start that will boost your teaching practice. There are plenty of tutoring companies to choose from, however if you are looking for great communication, training, support and professionalism, make EzyMath your first choice.
Ezy Math Tutoring is a great way for tutors to expose themselves to a wide variety of students across different age gaps and different subjects. Tutors are given great flexibility and choice with regards to which students they would like to tutor and in what locations. Ezy Math Tutoring provided great support throughout my time with them and consistent advice. Seeing my students improve and gain confidence over time was both rewarding and satisfying. I would recommend Ezy Math Tutoring for prospective clients and tutors.
