We have all had the experience of a "bad teacher" and we know it's not pleasant. Often the teacher is simply a bad match for that particular student rather than being a "bad teacher" in general but in either case the student has a serious problem. This is why many parents contact us for a private tutor - their child just can't "get it" when their teacher is teaching. It's incredible how one explanation results in more confusion whereas another results in that "aha" feeling we all love so much! It is really a matter of getting the "right" tutor and not the "best" one. We see this every day in our work. A tutor might have hundreds of hours of experience and might have received dozens of testimonials from students, however, even such a tutor doesn't click with all students. Every tutor gets bad feedback sometimes. It's all about getting the right fit and this is what we do!

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Still, Sam has some problem on writing a well formatted maths equation and this is very important in getting a better result in the future. A well written maths equation can give the marker a clear and detail understanding of the solving method and provide a neat and tidy exam paper. Sam can communicate a lot more things to me but I would like him to communicate with me more on maths area.
During each lesson, the student shows a strong interest to the subject. He is a very engaging pupil to teach. John puts in strong effort every class but he sometimes only completes parts of his homework. The way the work is presented in the student's notebooks is excellent, but he needs to work on dating all works, writing titles for each work completed and writing question number for each question attempted. Developing formatting skills would be very beneficial for long term success.
She doesn't really have any large problem areas, she just needs to make sure she reads the questions properly and makes sure her calculator inputs are correct. She likes working the questions out fast and sometimes makes very silly mistakes, which could cost her potential marks. This can be improved with working out and simply taking it a little slowly.
We are very happy with the lovely Sarah and more importantly, Annie is enjoying her time with her.
We are very happy with Simon. Ryan has taken to the tutoring really well. One on one has really helped as he cannot get distracted by other kids and Simon keeps him on his toes and listening attentively.
I would like to say that Miranda is an outstanding, caring and patient tutor. She has a gift for working with kids. She is a huge asset to your company and the ezymath family.
