We have all had the experience of a "bad teacher" and we know it's not pleasant. Often the teacher is simply a bad match for that particular student rather than being a "bad teacher" in general but in either case the student has a serious problem. This is why many parents contact us for a private tutor - their child just can't "get it" when their teacher is teaching. It's incredible how one explanation results in more confusion whereas another results in that...

It's incredible how one explanation results in more confusion whereas another results in that "aha" feeling we all love so much! It is really a matter of getting the "right" tutor and not the "best" one. We see this every day in our work. A tutor might have hundreds of hours of experience and might have received dozens of testimonials from students, however, even such a tutor doesn't click with all students. Every tutor gets bad feedback sometimes. It's all about getting the right fit and this is what we do!
We will organise a 1-on-1 maths tutor in East Killara to come to your home at a time of your choosing. They will be a local East Killara maths tutor so scheduling lessons will be easy. Also, no booking fees, no minimum terms, no cancellation costs, no nonsense! And here's the best thing: your first lesson is a trial. The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
The standout issue was that Julie didn't seem to learn the concepts, instead she would try to cram as many example problems into her cheat sheets so that she would have a prototype problem to work from for test questions. NOTE: I only had one session with her, so the feedback here is limited.
Adam is enthusiastic, hard working, polite and patient. He should be highly praised for those attitudes and behaviours. Adam tries hard in session and without fail attempts homework that I set for him. I have not reviewed how Adam works at school. But he seems to have attempted questions on the material he requests help for.
She just needs to keep on practicing the terms and formulas that she's worked on in maths a bit more eg. algebra, the pythagoras theorem, median and range and simultaneous equations; so that it becomes like second-nature to her and to always back check and recheck her work. Gaps - avoid rule dependence, avoid lazy thinking, format skills - we still have to look over these learning strategies.

Regarding Zoe's tutoring with Sean. I spoke to Zoe last night after her lesson with Sean and she seems quite happy with him and is happy to continue with him. We to are happy with the way he is tutoring Zoe.
Calvin and Gabby are working well together. Gabby even got an award at school. We are happy with the way things are going at the moment
