Maybe looking for a maths tutor? Maths unfortunately has a reputation for difficulty and for not being useful in "real life". This is so much so the case that there is now a national program in Australia called "Choose Maths" to help encourage our young people to treat their maths studies seriously. However, in an increasingly technological world logical thinking is becoming increasingly valued. While your teenager may be complaining that they will "never use algebra in real life", the truth is that the logical thinking and problem solving skills developed through mathematics are extremely useful. Software development, engineering, artificial intelligence, genetics, data analytics, finance, insurance ... the list can go on and on. The future requires logical thinking and the only way to develop those skills is mathematics.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
I've explained and shown my thoughts on daily revision, keeping a notes folder, using memory triggers and others. Now we need to make sure that these habits are practised continually. For example, the memory triggers sheet should be nearby and constantly updated when working on problems, but it's only been updated when I prompt it in the lessons. The first page of notes I've seen on vectors was neat, but I'd like to see them be less of a copy of school notes.
He understands and corrects his work when he's made a mistake. It's a great attitude to have when learning maths. Zachary puts his full effort in his homework question but plays around too much during class hours. He gets very distracted and needs to focus on his work rather than his surroundings.
This semester our lessons have been slightly ahead of the topics covered in class. This allows Ethan to reaffirm knowledge we have covered in class, thus filling the gaps in his knowledge. Overall Ethan has some issue linking the relevancy of current topics back. To complete problems which cover multiple learning objectives he must often be shown an example first.

I have found the Ezymath process to be highly professional and effectively adaptive in addressing the many challenges that can be associated with home tutoring programs. More specifically, (a) The fact that tutors come to the student's home environment (b) flexibility in arranging time-frames (c) open lines of communication for input and feedback in relation to student's progress and adaptability to the home tutoring process. I've also found the transparency associated with invoicing and the progress reports to be impressive. I'm unable however to comment on the reality Elijah's progress with his math challenges. Instead, I rely on Ezymath reports, as well as input from Elijah's parents and school teachers. Whilst still early days yet, evidently, there does appear to be some evidence suggesting that Elijah is gaining confidence and competence in maths. I believe Elijah's parents are planning to continue having tutoring session during the Summer break.
We wanted to commend Amelia, one of your tutors who has been working with our daughter Mila on her grade 6 maths. Amelia has been fantastic in all respects - friendly, punctual, encouraging, and a highly effective tutor who has helped Mila achieve her best report in maths to date.
Kareem is very happy with John as am I. He makes sure Kareem understands the basics and rules of what he is learning, which is what Kareem needs.
