We have all had the experience of a "bad teacher" and we know it's not pleasant. Often the teacher is simply a bad match for that particular student rather than being a "bad teacher" in general but in either case the student has a serious problem. This is why many parents contact us for a private tutor - their child just can't "get it" when their teacher is teaching. It's incredible how one explanation results in more confusion whereas another results in that...

It's incredible how one explanation results in more confusion whereas another results in that "aha" feeling we all love so much! It is really a matter of getting the "right" tutor and not the "best" one. We see this every day in our work. A tutor might have hundreds of hours of experience and might have received dozens of testimonials from students, however, even such a tutor doesn't click with all students. Every tutor gets bad feedback sometimes. It's all about getting the right fit and this is what we do!

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Titus is growing in confidence and is able to back check his work, if he thinks there might be a mistake. He is always asking questions which is a really good thing. Titus just needs to look at formatting and structure of his work as some markers are 'picky' in the way they want answers to look.
Ryan continues to be a respectful and attentive student. I would like to see him put more effort into homework even when he thinks he will struggle, because I imagine he would be surprised by how much he could actually accomplish. Good work ethic in class but as said above I would like to see more attempts in the homework arena.
Catherine seems to be struggling slightly with the idea of area and understanding the difference between perimeter, area, and volume. While she usually catches on very quickly in classes, we sometimes have to very briefly re-visit some areas so that she understands them again. Overall, there are very few gaps. At the moment, mainly double digit multiplication, but with just a little bit more work, I am positive that she will be able to do it completely independently and correctly.

Very happy with the service of Thomas - he should be coming back tonight for the first lesson this term. Hugo (my son) was very happy.
I want to thank Ezy Maths Tutoring, as Joshua seems to have connected well with David and is working with his strengths. Already we are seeing a difference in the confidence of David to tackle his Maths and is being guided to see the areas that he is lacking instead of total self doubt of thinking that he knows nothing .
Sam has been an excellent, kind, understanding and patient tutor with Gabriella. Under his guidance she has made improvements in her outcomes and study habits in spite of her great difficulties with the subject. She had gone from a fail grade to a pass mark and has steadily applied herself more consistently to regular study thanks to Sam. We have nothing but praise for his abilities.
