Finding a suitable maths tutor for your child can be difficult. Where do you start? What do you look for? Experience? Personality? Someone local? Should they teach their own content or work on your child's current school work? How often should you have tutoring? How long should each session be? Is a particular time of the day more effective than other times? So many questions, but, after years and years of experience, we can assure you there is no on-size-fits-all answer. Tuition is an individual matter....

So many questions, but, after years and years of experience, we can assure you there is no on-size-fits-all answer. Tuition is an individual matter. It's really about finding someone who is a good match for your specific situation. That means a good personality match + a teaching style that matches the student's learning style + a good balance between empathy and authoritativeness + many other things.
Unfortunately no tutor profile can tell you if the tutor will be a good match. You won't know that until you see them working together.
It usually doesn't take us more than a few days to organise a maths tutor in Port Gawler. And, we really want you to love your tutor! That's why your first lesson works as a trial. Don't think the match is good? We'll organise someone else...

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Vince needs to be confident in talking aloud and ask more questions when in need as well as understand that it's ok to be wrong. He self questions when in doubt but needs to improve on pen to paper in his thought process.

Current learning areas are trigonometry, geometry and statistics. Jackson was great with statistics, good with trigonometry but quite lacking with geometry (didn't know the circumference or area of a circle for instance). Once the understanding is there Jackson can apply it well, even in problem solving questions which is great. With English, not much to say, aspects of grammar and condensing and sifting through information to only include pivotal pieces of information could improve.

Thanks for your email. Our decision to discontinue the tutoring was not due to any dissatisfaction - quite the opposite. My daughter only had a few sessions with her tutor, and in that time gained a huge amount of confidence in her abilities. The tutor was able to reassure her that she wasn't as bad at maths as she believed. This new-found confidence enabled my daughter to discuss openly with her teacher the difficulties she was having, and get some extra help at school. Since then, she has performed markedly better in her assignments and tests. Natasha is an excellent tutor and I would highly recommend your company to anyone experiencing difficulty with Maths. Thanks for the follow up and for all your help.
Douglas was great & Liam responded well with him - But the school have always had in house tutoring that Liam was uncomfortable attending - But with Douglas's input he now feels confident to go and take that path. As I pay School fees this makes more sense than another outlay on top. He is making great progress and all is well.
Just wanted to let you know that Mark seems like a good match for Nik. He really likes him and had a really successful first session. Thanks for your support and assistance in finding him!
