Struggling academically while seeing others succeed can feel disheartening. It may seem as though "successful students" have it easy, as if solutions just pop into their head. Seeing the cycle of success cycling round and round for others can seem like natural talent. Geniuses do exist but most successful students are just normal people who have somehow learned how to succeed academically. Good news! Success leaves clues. These students tend to be prepared, to do their homework & regular revision....

Good news! Success leaves clues. These students tend to be prepared, to do their homework & regular revision. They focus on comprehension not on memorization. Most importantly they have growth mindset not a fixed mindset - failures are an opportunity for growth not proof of inadequacy.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
During the last month, we have tried to use back checking, avoid rule dependency and ok to be wrong strategies. For the Julius, talking aloud seems pretty suitable strategy to know what's going on inside the mind. He often tries to lazy thinking and not often questions himself. So, I have found it useful to make him talk aloud. Also, I have been trying to let himself think that it's ok to be wrong and he should always question himself.
Patrick shows keen interest in learning maths and enjoys the sessions. He gives his best during the sessions. He attempts most questions given as homework and has been getting most questions correct. He is learning to write clearly and legibly. He gives a good attempt to his homework.
Understanding areas of algebra including perfect squares and solving vertically opposite angles using algebra as it was new material however all algebra learnt will be recapped in a summary lesson. Additionally surface area another new topic will also be revisited next month. Also harder applications of the unitary method, a NAPLAN pattern question and ratios were also difficulties which were positively manged throughout June.

I would recommend working with Ezy Math for any prospective tutor. The work is very satisfying. Maths can be a difficult subject for anybody, and when you can show someone an easier, systematic way to solve one of their problems the students really appreciate the help.
I came to work with Ezymaths because I knew I would get a wide range of students to tutor, which would undoubtedly improve my tutoring skill as well as communications skills (dealing with students and parents). The biggest accomplishment would be when my student's mark improved significantly and she moved up to the upper maths class in the next semester. I felt very proud of my students when they remembered the skills I taught them last week and used those skills to complete their homework and also to apply to other similar questions. The CEPs and various resources were useful. Thank you for your support for the past year!
I came to Ezy Math to get a job that I would be able to gain a range of skills from while working in my own time, which turned out great as I was able to work with clients around my own schedule. I've been quite happy with the results of my tutoring, I had a student who was getting a 'C' on average up to the top of the class with consistent 'A's. It's really great seeing the work you do affect others and when you do a good job, it really shows. I would recommend Ezy Math Tutoring to other prospective tutors, I never encountered a single problem with them and if I ever needed information, resources or help, they were always able to provide it to me. I would also recommend Ezy Math Tutoring to clients as having Ezy Math as a support structure definitely makes the work easier.
