What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What attracts me most to tutoring and any form of teaching is interacting with people. I have always worked in a customer service area which required me to work with different ages of people. I have built my communication and networking skills through this which has made me recognize my passion to help others, hence why I am studying to become a doctor to further practice my passion.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
As a tutor, I believe my top strengths include communication, patience, and attentiveness. When working with younger aged students, communication is key. This might refer to repeating myself over and over or explaining concepts in a detailed manner. I have had numerous experiences with tutoring include teaching swimming to students of all ages. My experience trained me to learn about the different type of teaching methods and how to asses what works best for a student.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important attribute a tutor should have for a student is making them feel welcomed and included so they are comfortable to ask as many questions as they need and make as many mistakes as needed. When a student is comfortable with their tutor, they aren’t afraid to keep asking questions which allows them to learn best. Listening to a student and handling them with patience is the best way to build this attribute and become an amazing tutor for their student.

Lacey has really shown her improvement in understanding all concepts taught over the past two weeks. By the end of the class, she was able to answer most questions right on the first try. She is understanding the concepts now rather than rushing to memorize it and it shows off when doing practice problems.
Lacey was told to continue doing practice problems as it is the best way to test her knowledge and if she had any doubts, we would run a short class tomorrow before her exam.
We had a productive lesson and created a collaborative one note to save all formulas and examples for Lacey. We covered all content in her teachers lessons.

Lacey has homework assigned from me. She is encouraged to practice problems to grasp a better understanding of the formulas.

The lesson went great and we extended the time for another hour. We have already scheduled our next lesson for next week and I have assigned her homework and gotten her phone number to directly contact her (with moms consent) so she can ask me questions and keep me updated with her content.
She has an exam coming up in two weeks and i took a screenshot of her syllabus since it doesn't align with ezymath content. We are covering all her doubts and I am teaching her the foundation for all concepts leading up to this exam.
