What do I enjoy most about tutoring?
I feel that tutoring can be very rewarding through being able to help others to understand the concepts they are trying to learn. Quite often I have been able to see the moment of realisation in the students I have tutored as they come to an understanding of the concept we are discussing. This can be very empowering as it demonstrates how the time we have invested in going over the topic has been worthwhile.
My Strengths as Tutor
I think one of my greatest strengths for tutoring is that I am patient. This allows me to be able to take time to make sure the student completely understands the topic. I don't become frustrated when I have to repeatedly explain a concept. I love maths and physics and believe I have a very good understanding of the topics, which will invariably help as a tutor. I think another strength of mine is my ability to be able to explain topics in a variety of ways.
Most important things I can do for a student
The most important thing that a tutor can do is to take time to make sure that the student completely understands the topic. It is vitally important that the tutor exerts a degree of patience in explaining the topic in depth and testing the student to make sure they completely understand the topic. Another important thing a tutor can do for the student is to make sure that they communicate all the ideas clearly without any extraneous information so that the student does not get confused. This would involve preparation before seeing the student.
