What do I enjoy most about tutoring?

I enjoy being able to take a concept and break it down to bite-size pieces to help students gain an even deeper understanding without overwhelming them. I also enjoy witnessing the lightbulb moment students get once they finally comprehend what you have been teaching them. Watching students becoming more independent as learners the more I encourage and reassure them about their potentials are also one of the many things I enjoy about teaching/tutoring.

My Strengths as Tutor

I believe that my strengths are that I am patient and empathetic in nature. I always try to look at the problem from the student's perspective to try to ascertain why they are having difficulties in understanding a concept. I will never give up on a student and am willing to try different approaches to improve the students progress. I am also very organised and have good attention to detail and will make sure that I always have my resources ready. I am also flexible and I am able to cater my lessons to meet the individual needs of students.

Most important things I can do for a student

A tutor should understand the strengths and weaknesses of individual children and be able to adapt to their learning needs. They should be good listeners and not underestimate the capability of children to carry out thought provoking conversations. A tutor should also be encouraging and help their students understand that they can achieve anything they set their mind to.
