What do I enjoy most about tutoring?
The main thing which I enjoy most is seeing the people a tutor succeed and achieve their goals. I strongly believe that there is no better motivation than seeing progress and results, and this is the reason why I am passionate about helping others.
My Strengths as Tutor
As previously mentioned, I have been fortunate enough to have informally tutored throughout my time at both Pembroke boarding school and Lincoln College. I have also been tutored throughout this time, and so am well aware of what characteristics and skills successful tutors possess.
Aside from my strong academic results, I am a very approachable person with great communication and person skills.
Most important things I can do for a student
My 3 key elements of a successful tutor:
1. It is critical that the tutor builds a solid, personal relationship with their students. This relationship is foundational to the success of the student, as this creates mutual trust and respect.
2. Concise and clear communication with all stakeholders (students, parents and perhaps teachers) allow the students to learn the most important concepts in the most efficient manner.
3. Organisation and preparation for each session is very important as well (tutoring structure, goals, bench-marking etc.)
