What do I enjoy most about tutoring?
I believe that the most enjoyable aspect of tutoring is being able to make a concrete difference in the life of a young person. School work can be extremely daunting for some, and being able to guide students towards success is very rewarding, as you can see the direct difference that you are making in their lives. Furthermore, watching a student being able to grow, learn and better themselves is highly satisfying.
My Strengths as Tutor
Two of my main strengths would be passion and motivation. I have always had a strong personal regard for education, and I believe that this will help me to encourage others to have the same dedication and commitment to their study. Another two of my strengths would be patience and optimism. These qualities are helpful, because they allow me to remain positive, so that students can flourish, despite their obstacles and doubts. A final set of strengths that I believe are useful to tutoring are organisation and timelines, as these can be helpful in motivating students to reach their goals.
Most important things I can do for a student
The most important thing that a tutor can do for a student is boost their confidence, so that they feel comfortable with their school work. Although a tutor can teach content, it is more beneficial for them to change their students' attitudes, so that they are willing to partake in schoolwork and can see the advantage of participating. Additionally, if a tutor can help a student to embrace schooling life, it can change the student's perception of themselves and work life in general, which can positively alter the course of their life.
