What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
It’s satisfying to see someone who is struggling with a mathemetics concept learn it and then perform well in an assessment. Helping students who are confused by a topic and seeing them achieve the marks they were aiming for is what I want to do.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am both able to create a structured lesson plan but also change it “on the goâ€Â as required. Being a recent year 12 graduate means I am familiar with the year 12 and 11 curriculum. When I help students, I find that they are struggling with a concept that they have little to no foundation of. If they haven’t been taught the basics, they will be challenged when they try to complete the complicated exercises. I always try to go back to the basics and help the students with the “simpleâ€Â things before building on that knowledge to complete more difficult questions.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A tutor must not give away the answer to a question. I believe that the best way of teaching is to give the student all the tools he/she needs to arrive at the answer themselves. Without a fundamental understanding of how to approach a certain problem, answering questions is difficult. So a tutor should be able to give a student this understanding and help them achieve on their own merit where possible.
