What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
My favorite part of tutoring is helping a student understand a subject enough to enjoy the importance and relevance of it to their field and/or to the modern world. Mathematics is especially very important in day to day life so if it's something they dread because they can't understand it, I enjoy helping them grasp enough of the material that they don't doubt their skills.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I can listen to students and figure out what parts of the subject they are struggling with rather than assuming they had the same struggles that I might have faced. Using this method, I can personalize each tutoring experience for each student. My greatest strength is my ability to teach the same concept in a variety of ways that suit people differently.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The first most important thing that a tutor can do for a student to create a "can-do" environment around the subject. If a student has the right tools in order to attempt a problem, they are more likely to try it in their free time and gain an independent understanding of it.
The second is to help the student acquire the right tools and/or process in order to undertake a problem. This includes creating an understanding that the student doesn't lack the ability to undertake the problem, but instead hasn't found the correct approach.
