What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy most how emotionally rewarding it is. It's incredible to be first hand witness to a student's growth during their time in your classes. I have taught children that once struggled with their subjects and in the process of dealing with the stress, had lost all passion for it and belief in themselves. However, with time and under my guidance, their interest in the subjects peaked, their knowledge growing more with each class and as a tutor, seeing their rising grades, that are a testimony of their growth, is indeed quite humbling.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

As a child, I struggled with school work. I scored poorly in most of my classes, once scoring only 20% in a subject. At the start of my 9th grade, I resolved to improve and after consistent effort, under the guidance of passionate teachers, I improved drastically. I was awarded two Top in the Country Awards in my final examinations and a Full Tuition Scholarship to a prestigous university as a result. My strength is my ability to understand the struggles of a student. This means I commit to my responsibilities completely, tailor tutorials to address difficult points and am passionate about it.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Flexibility. It's important to be able to adjust my approaches to topics based off of my understanding of the student, which would maximise their understanding of the topic. Preparation is key, because it allows me to deliver the information in as efficient a manner as possible. Communication is of the utmost importance. I remember the frustration of not being able to inquire and question in the midst of a lesson, and thus, I would urge my students to clarify their doubts and to be inquisitive in the classroom. I would urge them to be active learners, as I find this to be more effective.
