What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy getting to know the student as an individual, as this not only makes my tutoring style more tailored to their own ways of learning, but also make the sessions more personable and fun. I also love to hear when a student feels like they understand a topic they struggled with and feel confident to answer questions about it.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
One of my strengths is that I am able to explain problems in a number of ways, so if a student is struggling to grasp a concept I can alter my approach to see if that will help. A lot of the time the student just needs a different perspective to picture what is going on, and I am happy to provide that.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a student can get out of tutoring is the confidence that they know how to do a problem. I've had students who understood the topic better than they realised, but weren't sure enough to believe they knew it. Teaching concepts and making sure the student is certain they will know how to approach related questions in the future is an important step in reducing unnecessary stress in answering questions. Stress during exams can cause errors and mistakes to come up more frequently, so making sure a student is comfortable in their knowledge of a subject is essential.
