What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I love to impart knowledge and see students getting excited about learning. It gives me great pleasure when students are able to improve and understand complex concepts or just even start to love to read and learn. I was an avid reader as a very young child and was extremely articulate for my age. I have always been asked to help those that struggled in English and comprehension and have always been humbled and appreciated my position to do so.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Patience, compassion and persistence. I never give up. If something cannot be understood one way, I will find a suitable alternative until it can be understood by the student. Everyone learns differently and it is important to know how to deal with this. Being a mature aged person with enormous experience with such a variety of students is definitely an advantage.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe it is very important to listen to the student and what they need. Teaching/tutoring is not about the tutor but the student - both in terms of how it is taught to suit their needs and why it is being taught. Merely providing answers is not helpful nor can it improve understanding. I also believe that it is important to be very sensitive and patient to individual learning needs without making the student feel inadequate or 'stupid'. Every question is a great question.

Chloe learned the words and is getting them right (only one or two wrong out of 20). An easy intermediate comprehension was good. Word games was fun.
