What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy helping a student reach their learning goals or learn a new skill. I love seeing their face when they have their Eureka moment or when they have overcome a learning challenge. I enjoy going on a learning journey with the student, guiding them along the way and helping them help themselves. I also enjoy learning things from my students, whether it would be something from their culture or their unique perspective. I love seeing students' transformation from the beginning of the learning term to the end.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

As a tutor, I take full responsibility for the learning experience of my student. If they do not understand something, it means I haven't explained it well enough. I am also excellent at communication and am interculturally competent which means I can find rapport with a wide variety of students. I also appreciate that each person has their own unique view of the world and it is my job to be flexible enough to convey information in their 'language'. Furthermore, I understand the importance of rewarding the student for their efforts, which will motivate them to continue to be dedicated.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Firstly, it is important for a tutor to be very meticulous and specific in their teaching process. It is important to use terms that they're familiar with and define ones that they aren't. It is important to set up a step-by-step, logical argument which explains the process and reasoning behind the process. Secondly, it is important to be creative in the teaching process. This will allow students to have fun while learning. Thirdly, it is highly critical to teach students not only what to learn, but how to learn as well. This will enable them to have success in their studies for the rest of their lives.
