What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Seeing that 'aha' moment when a theory finally clicks for the student. Taking their queries and confusion and laying it out into an easily understandable format. Seeing the anxiety they have about certain types of questions fade away with time.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

Relating to the student. I remember back in high school I would meet tutors that didn't listen to me at all. In my work I make sure to tailor my teaching to answer the student's most pressing concerns.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Reframing the question in a way that is easier for them to understand. I know that their teacher at school has already laid the ground work. What I want to do is help guide the student in how they approach the problem. I find a lot of the time that as a tutor I don't directly answer the student's questions, but I ask THEM a question that helps them figure it out themselves. Most of my students already have the tools they need to solve their challenges, and all I need to do is point out how they can use those tools.
