What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I love empowering students to be able to enact their greatest potential through applying what they learn. I also especially appreciate having direct experiences and gaining perspective on how different people learn
I most enjoy the feeling of "paying it forward" when it comes to sharing what I have learnt with others in a way that empowers them to be able to do and get what they want out of life.
I see tutoring and mentoring as very much intertwined. I love opportunities where I can learn and help others at the same time; tutoring reflects this wonderfully.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My ethos that Learning = Teaching. I mean this in the sense that 'you know you've learnt something when you can embody it, and you know that when you can embody something it means you've learnt'.
Because of this I don't distance myself from my students because I believe I can learn as much from them as they can from me. This helps me to form genuine relationships and bonds that faciliate the learning process.
I am also incredibly passionate about learning itself, so teaching a wide breath of students and subjects is something I strive for, such that I can learn and teach as possible.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
To inspire within the student, their capacity to learn from the inside-out in such a way that makes learning a lifelong process and not only something that takes place inside a classroom; to help them realise that Life is a classroom itself. This, of course implies that all tutors are still students, and I believe that integrating this notion is key to ensuring success in any learning environment.

Emily did very well to comfortably get enough writing to not worry about the word count. She has a class tomorrow that she can use to consult with her teacher. She is ahead of her class schedule.
Getting resources from class if they are not directly shared from teacher. Emily is going to speak to her teacher tomorrow anyway and clarify details that weren't previously clarified in class.

Emily did well to improve the word count and get much closer to what was required of her teacher. She had more than doubled her word count all while polishing up the coherency and expression of her piece. In times where her writing was not the most coherent she at least was able to grasp the underlining meaning of her work
Clarity on teacher expectations and assessments so she won't misinterpret tasks and have to repeat.

Emily was able to write a creative paragraph on her text. She also did well to break it down into smaller sections to make it easier for herself to improve. She expressed herself creatively.
Having some more confidence with her creative writing. To trust her intuition and be okay with revising and proofread after-the-case.

We managed to go through all of the questions that were provided by her teacher and connect them with the themes that were introduced in class. We also reinforced a lot of knowledge of the plot and had a fruitful analytical discussion on the text.
Although we didn't use it, I'm not sure if Emily had her book with her. Just a concern.
