What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Being able to work one-on-one, or in a small group of students. You get to know the student well, and it is very rewarding when you can see hard work (on both ends) pay off for the student in need.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

Using alternate, and imaginative, concepts and methods for helping students to grasp a concept. I love helping students to write mind-maps and illustrative diagrams to help them memorise and learn new skills for their own study.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe one of the most important things a tutor can do for a student, is teach a young student how to study effectively. It is relatively easy to teach a student how to write an essay, or do a maths problem, but I believe it is arguably equally, if not even more important, to teach younger students how to carry on studying effectively in their own time. For example, I have had quite a lot of students in my mentoring role at my old high school, who didn't know how to study or even how to write notes! So as a tutor, I would teach them study skills as well as academic work.
