We have all had the experience of a "bad teacher" and we know it's not pleasant. Often the teacher is simply a bad match for that particular student rather than being a "bad teacher" in general but in either case the student has a serious problem. This is why many parents contact us for a private tutor - their child just can't "get it" when their teacher is teaching.
It's incredible how one explanation results in more confusion whereas another results in that "aha" feeling we all love so much! It is really a matter of getting the "right" tutor and not the "best" one. We see this every day in our work. A tutor might have hundreds of hours of experience and might have received dozens of testimonials from students, however, even such a tutor doesn't click with all students. Every tutor gets bad feedback sometimes. It's all about getting the right fit and this is what we do!

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Although Sam shows great potential, Sam does not seem to be confident in his mathematical ability. There are certain methods he uses that does not encourage critical thinking, I feel like Sam is just memorising patterns rather than learning why your perform certain mathematical operations.
Nick consistently shows a great attitude towards our lessons. Nick's effort in the lessons is consistently good. He is always willing to learn and puts in effort to get as much out of our lessons as possible. Only comment I can make about his work habits would be about those outside of our lessons. He puts in a lot of effort and works diligently in our lessons, however he still seems to have a little trouble doing homework and studying what he has been taught at school.
She has been focusing on SACS and practice exams coming up so we are exploring the gaps in her understanding. So far these have been easily identified and addressed. Some issues with some concepts which then leads to difficulties in identifying the correct mathematical approach. Confidence, at this stage, is probably the most problematic. She is unclear about her future goals and therefore, unclear about the need for maths in her future endeavours.
Ezy Math Tutoring is a great company that provides a terrific experience for their tutors. They have great support and offer plenty of training to prepare you for any situation you might find yourself in. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to tutor.
Being a tutor with EzyMath made tutoring students to be successful, a really comfortable and structured process. This is because as a tutor we are continually being updated on effective teaching methods through the CEP and have support throughout tutor forums. It ensures the greatest success potential for studnets.
I would highly recommend the service of ezy math tutoring. I found it to be very professional, when first looking for a tutor the guidance I was given made it an easy choice, our tutor was extremely helpful to our daughter and we notice improvement almost immediately, the regular reports on her progress was also beneficial, Sue-Ellen Hope
