Finding a suitable maths tutor for your child can be difficult. Where do you start? What do you look for? Experience? Personality? Someone local? Should they teach their own content or work on your child's current school work? How often should you have tutoring? How long should each session be? Is a particular time of the day more effective than other times? So many questions, but, after years and years of experience, we can assure you there is no on-size-fits-all answer. So many questions, but, after years and years of experience, we can assure you there is no on-size-fits-all answer. Tuition is an individual matter. It's really about finding someone who is a good match for your specific situation. That means a good personality match + a teaching style that matches the student's learning style + a good balance between empathy and authoritativeness + many other things.
Unfortunately no tutor profile can tell you if the tutor will be a good match. You won't know that until you see them working together.
It usually doesn't take us more than a few days to organise a maths tutor in Wilberforce. And, we really want you to love your tutor! That's why your first lesson works as a trial. Don't think the match is good? We'll organise someone else...

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Joanna has and is continuing to make excellent progress with developing a good understanding of mathematical concepts. She is able to logically implement correct strategies when answering different types of problems.
Sabih has a good work ethic in the sessions, however he can get distracted as any teenager does (it is very understandable I was the same in year 10). He can be slack on homework however that might be because it is too challenging or different to what he is used to. He has a good attitude to each session, I'm always welcomed with a smile.
His multiplication skills still require some work as it is often based on repetition and constant practice. However, he is able to provide an answer as he understands the calculation behind multiplying, just that it is not as time efficient. With us doing Mathletics during the lesson, I noticed he has not fully understood fractions and decimals yet, so those topics would be one we will mostly focus on.
Oscar is finding the tutoring very helpful in realizing he is able to "do maths". He is feeling a lot more positive in general at this time and we hope that the gradual improvement he makes will continue to provide a source of self belief and positive thinking. He is very comfortable working with Kirsty and is keen to continue with her.
I initially chose to work for EzyMath tutoring so that I could earn some extra money while attending university. The company most appealed to me with its flexible hours, and a clear idea of letting the tutor be in control of his own work. You could work as many hours as you wanted, and truly develop a personal relationship with your clients. The weekly modules provided by EzyMath ensured that I myself developed and learned along the way. For me, the greatest accomplishment was the transition into a fully coordinated and confident tutor in a manner of weeks. EzyMath truly turned me into a successful tutor who had a great relationship with his students. It was especially amazing to see that the people I taught were even a little upset when I could no longer continue working. Overall, I definitely recommend working for the company to any people who want to mature into successful tutors. Any parents who want their children to learn in a friendly yet structured environment; as well as working with someone who they can truly rely on should definitely contact EzyMath tutoring! I'm very grateful for this experience and all you help. Good luck to the company for all of its future endeavours.
Things are going well. No issues and Jacob is going into class with more confidence.
