One of the most important things a tutor can do for a student is make students enjoy the subject if not they will not be able to grasp the concepts well enough. Ensuring communication is sound and fixing student doubts then and there so they don't persist is how one can nurture enjoyment in a student. Also making sure the class isn't frigid and…

The most important thing a tutor can do is adjust their teaching methods and style based on each student. Teaching with only one style and using the same methods for everyone won't work, and if you can't adjust, your sessions becomes very robotic and boring. I like to make sure I'm personalising my lessons for each individual student and I'm…

I consider that the most important thing is faith in their students. No matter how dire the situation is, a tutor's faith and belief in their student should not waver. As students are looking to better themselves, a tutor's belief in them is crucial as they look towards their mentor for guidance. This, in addition with a tutor's well researched…

In my opinion it is important to have to ability to maintain the interest of the student through out sessions. And this only does not apply during the sessions, it is crucial to make sure that the students have interest to attend the upcoming sessions. Not being able to create the interest the student has towards a tutors sessions, a session is of…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to guide them towards a position of personal and academic growth. Irrespective of whether the students growth is minuscule or large, any sort of development should be rewarded. Thus, it is the role of a tutor to assist their student(s) to cultivate the ability to progress. I would say my…

Local Reviews

The whole process of organizing a math tutor for my son was a very easy and smooth experience. After submitting my query, I received a call shortly afterward asking for some basic information. We met with our tutor for the first time in math in less than a week and a half. Our tutor was wonderful and greatly benefited my son. We have scheduled additional sessions to continue the assistance. I would highly recommend this service to anyone looking for a math tutor.

Inside Hampton ParkTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 4 student Ethan practiced **converting fractions to percentages** and also worked on telling time using worded problems.

Year 8 student Ben focused on **finding the circumference of circles and sectors**, then began solving basic linear equations by applying reverse operations.

In Year 10, Erik tackled **multiplying matrices** and reviewed network connections, forming and interpreting networks with matrix representation.

Recent Challenges

A Year 9 student was encouraged to "work neatly in his book so that at the end of the year he can understand his own notes," but often left working out incomplete or unclear, which made revision more difficult.

In Year 11 maths, another student relied heavily on their calculator for multiple choice practice ("was advised to mostly use his calculator for exam 1"), missing opportunities to solidify core skills by hand.

A Year 7 learner sometimes forgot set homework, causing delays when moving on to new topics and requiring extra review time. The result: time spent clarifying basics instead of advancing.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Hampton Park noticed Erik, a high school student, now attempts most maths problems independently and has begun developing his own strategies under exam conditions—a real shift from relying heavily on guidance before.

Meanwhile, Aditi (also in high school) was once hesitant to start writing tasks but now takes feedback on board and adds more detail to her paragraphs after each session.

In primary years, Reda recently moved from needing help with tree diagrams to drawing them solo and applying general knowledge when tackling new questions.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Hampton Park Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like River Gum Primary School.
