Yes, this is one of the main benefits of one-on-one private tutoring. A good tutor will appreciate that students learn in a wide variety of ways and will adjust their approach to the student’s specific needs, learning style and requirements. You can usually start to see this from the very first trial tutorial.
The ratio is always one-to-one. In our experience, one-on-one tuition is far more effective than situations where a tutor’s time is shared. One-on-one attention allows a tutor to carefully understand the student’s thinking processes and work habits. This in turn helps the tutor address issues that may otherwise go unnoticed.
In a one-on-one tutorial, the tutor spends 100% of the tutorial time with your child.
Yes. The first tutorial with a matched tutor is available on a no-risk basis. This first tutorial is invaluable in understanding your needs and the specific challenges your child is experiencing. The tutor can consider gaps in knowledge, goals and learning strategies. Most importantly, this is an opportunity to make sure that the tutor is a good match for your child. If the tutor is not the right fit, we can help introduce another tutor.
Tuition is generally done in your home. This is the most convenient approach for most families and minimises distractions. However, if you want the tuition to be done at a local library or some other location, we can help identify a tutor who is able to accommodate that arrangement.
Every year, thousands of tutors reach out to Ezy Math hoping to use the platform to find students. We do not simply accept everyone. Tutors go through an application and engagement process before being available through Ezy Math. Usually, fewer than 1 in 10 applicants are accepted. To learn more about the tutor engagement and support process click here. That said, the most important thing is not just finding a “good” tutor. It is finding the right tutor for your child. Some students need advanced subject knowledge. Others need someone friendly, patient and encouraging. This is where good matching matters.
Tutors available through Ezy Math come from a range of backgrounds, because students from grade 3 to grade 12 have very different needs. Tutors may include undergraduate and postgraduate students, people with Masters or PhD degrees, school teachers, education professionals, and working professionals who also offer tutoring. Different students need different things. Some need advanced subject expertise. Some need exam preparation. Some need confidence, patience and a tutor they can connect with. No list of attributes can tell you if the tutor will work well for your child – this can only be seen in practice. This is why a trial is available and why we can help introduce another tutor if the first tutor is not the right fit.
You are always welcome to contact Ezy Math Tutoring if you have questions or need help with your tutoring arrangement. Your tutor is usually the first port of call for lesson times, lesson content, planning and day-to-day tutoring matters, because they manage the tutoring relationship directly with your family. If you are unsure, need help, or want us to assist with anything relating to the arrangement, our team is always available. You can always contact our office directly.

Connor has improved so much this year, his confidence, organization & overall results have come from a C to a A. I'm not going to do any tutoring through the holidays or for next year as I'm prepared for Connor to put everything into practice and hope that he can maintain his results without the tutoring. I have been happy with Ezymathtutoring and if Connor was to start to struggle again…
