Through science subjects, in particular, students gain transferable skills that are not only useful for other subjects but real-life problems as well. In reality, it's not just about the content, it's more about the way of thinking. Of course, exams and grades are important, but we've also found that students tend to react positively to tutors who show them these nuances in learning.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
we are processing rather smoothly on year 4 stuff, such as average/median/mode, algebra expression such as using x to represent numbers, perimeter and area, percentage, etc. some areas Zac have talent and confidence in while some require skills in working the problem
All your kids come into each session with a positive attitude and are great to work with. Similarly all your kids put in plenty of effort into each session and try to get the most out of it. Although I think some of them might need to practice focusing on the task at hand, *cough* Berto *cough* :) You've clearly instilled an excellent work ethic into your kids and there's no complaint here!
His main gaps this month related to corrdinate geometry, in particular, questions involving proof and division of lines. He also seemed to have forgotten a little but about prime numbers. No real problem areas although he did not do quite as well in his extension exam as he would have liked. This would point to difficulty trying to understand harder concepts. He also seems to rely a bit too much on formuale rather than using common sense which may cost him quite a bit of time in an exam.
