The most important thing is for the tutor to facilitate the learning experience for the student, rather than telling the student what to do. Students shouldn't just learn the content but they should also learn how to understand and research future concepts on their own. I want my students to get a great understanding of the entire concept instead…

I like to think of education as a conversation - tutoring can offer 1-on-1 contact with a student to allow them an equal voice in that conversation. As such, I think communication and listening skills are vital to understand a student's particular needs. Beyond that, the ability to "make learning fun" - an engaged student is a thriving one, and I…

Adjusting their teaching style to suit the way that student learns. Sometimes, explaining the content for a long time will work, but most of the time it doesn't. The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to try make difficult content more engaging and easier to grapple with. As I mentioned before, students having difficulty with a topic will be less engaged and less willing to put in the work. That's why it's the tutor's responsibility to try make the content more appealing or reframe it in…

The whole process was very easy. Jacques is a wonderful tutor who has instilled a love of maths in my daughter. Something I thought I'd never see. I have recommended EzyMath Tutoring to many other parents like myself who were despairing over their child's poor results in the subject.

Inside KedronTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 5 student Brodie practised converting between percentages, fractions, and decimals, and explored number patterns by identifying sequences.

In Year 10, Hannah tackled simplifying powers of variables and rational numbers while also working through her mock test to prepare for an upcoming exam.

Meanwhile, Year 12 student Jack focused on advanced calculus skills such as integration by substitution and parts, along with using trigonometric identities within integration problems.

Recent Challenges

In Year 10 Maths, a student repeatedly missed crucial details in multi-step questions; as one tutor noted, "she would forget a key part of the question and only realise after some time."

In Year 12 Physics, another struggled to identify which integration technique to use—confusing substitution with by-parts—which led to lost marks even when concepts were familiar.

For a Year 4 student, incomplete homework was noted: "Ethan didn't do his homework," which meant less opportunity for feedback.

A Year 8 learner's messy layout made working hard to follow: "write a bit bigger so it's easier to read," the tutor urged, as cramped writing hid errors during revision.

Recent Achievements

One Kedron tutor noticed a Year 10 student who used to freeze up on multiple-choice maths questions now actively eliminates wrong options and, when stuck, works backwards from the answers—a big shift from guessing or giving up.

In Year 12 physics, another student has moved past confusion with time dilation; after finally spotting where he misunderstood, he can now solve paradox questions independently.

Meanwhile, a primary student who struggled with visualising 3D shapes showed clear improvement after using LEGO models—her test scores have been steadily rising and she quickly figured out why not every rhombus is a square.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Grange Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Kedron State School.
