What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing people "click" with new ideas. It's great to help someone understand something that was tough for them before and watch them get more confident. When they get that sense of progress, it's a simple but satisfying moment for both of us.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My greatest strength as a tutor is my ability to understand what my student is failing to understand. Learning a new idea isn't a one step process, it involves making a chain of a logical connections in your head. I am good at finding that missing link.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is make sure they actually learn. It may seem obvious, but the reason personal tutoring is so much more effective than learning in a classroom is because a tutor you can guide an individual through the learning process each step of the way. It's much more than just explaining a concept to your student, it's making sure that your student can explain the concept back to you.

This was one of Jaidan’s strongest lessons. I was genuinely impressed by his arithmetic today. He approached problems that had previously challenged him with more speed and ease, and he picked up new techniques quickly and confidently.
Jaidan’s performance tends to vary from lesson to lesson in both focus and mathematical ability. However, in terms of his work and attentiveness, this lesson was Jaidan at his best. If he could maintain this level consistently, he has the potential to become a very capable student.

Jaidan was noticeably sharper with his arithmetic today, likely helped by being more rested. It was both encouraging and bittersweet to see that he was able to solve many of the questions he got wrong on the test when revisiting them with a clear mind, suggesting that nerves may have impacted his performance during the assessment.
Jaidan is still working on ingraining his knowledge of the basics. He can often answer a question correctly one lesson, but forget how to in the next. While he is becoming quicker at recalling techniques with guidance, revision is important to ensure long-term retention.

Jaidan’s arithmetic was genuinely impressive today. He was calculating more quickly and accurately than I’ve seen before, which allowed us to move through questions at a faster pace.
Despite performing well during the actual maths work, Jaidan was significantly more distracted than usual. He frequently veered off-topic and, while I can normally steer him back to the task, it was difficult to get him to refocus. As a result, the lesson time wasn’t used as effectively as it could have been.

Jaidan quickly grasped how to calculate volume by drawing on his understanding of area. His answer structuring is also improving as he remembering more often to write each logical step on a new line rather than editing the same one.
Jaidan would benefit from improving his recall of the different formulas for the areas of shapes and from writing out more of his internal working on the page. Furthermore, he was again quite distracted today, which made it difficult to make the most of the lesson time.
