What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy the process of helping to teach others the things that I love to learn, particularly when it comes to mathematics. If I can feel like I helped someone learn something new, that always makes me happy.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe that my strengths are trying to get the student to not just repeat practice questions, but also try to understand the fundamental concepts being taught, as if you know those, you can figure out anything. A long time ago when I was not so good at Maths, I had a tutor and he was very good, so I try to teach others in the way that helped me.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to make the student want to study the subject, instead of relying on others for help. In other words, building a foundation of passion for the subject.

About Dashiel
A strong passion for mathematics
I am someone with a very strong passion for maths and the beauty that comes with it. This is something I hope to share with students, so they can develop a proper understanding of the subject.
Understanding of others
I was not always proficient in maths, or any subject when I was in middle school, getting very low grades. So I understand the struggle many students face with the subject, and I empathize with that and wish to fix the gaps in knowledge these students may have.
University study
I am currently studying a bachelor's degree in computer science with a second major in mathematics at UWA. Having completed the ATAR I know the specialist and methods syllabus in great depth, however I am also able to account for earlier grades, as I know the curriculum for them too.

Her Algebra has come along but still needs more practice. Making sure to go left to right in her writing I thing will help with the organisation of the thoughts in her head. Since otherwise youre sort of just starting from the end of the working then jumping back to the start.
James was able to pick up on concpets pretty fast and has definitely shown quite a bit of improvement over time.

It would be quite useful to understand and take advantage of some of the notation that comes with functions. He already has a good foundation, just building on that would be good.

Just getting some practice in of her factorisation skills would be very helpful. I think understanding the process of how to get from one form to another could be very helpful for her as well.
There were some particular skills that Henry was pretty good with, most notably the arithmetic and some foundational skills. Some of his algebra isn't bad either.

There are a lot of areas that can be improved upon, such as going through each step and being able to reason with some fundamental thinks like fractions. In fact the reasoning is the most important part, rather than following a rule being able to justify each step.
