What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I have not had any tutoring experience. However, as someone who had tutors in school, I enjoyed it most when the tutors were patient, clear, supportive and had a sense of humour. Whenever I've helped out my younger sibling with schoolwork, or have had to help another student on a subject we are studying, I've enjoyed the opportunity to guide someone to clarify a concern, and felt fulfilled knowing I've helped someone feel more reassured and prepared. Helping out feels like the thing that will be most enjoyable about tutoring.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I think I am a patient, clear, communicative, open, and understanding tutor. I endeavour to be as organised and prepared for a situation as possible, and I hope this will translate to clear, structured, yet adaptable lessons for students. I also hope to pass on a learning approach that is kind, patient and healthy. As someone who struggled with academic anxiety in school, I know how helpful it can be to have a tutor who can help you with sustainable studying practices and a compassionate approach.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The tutors who had the biggest effect on me created safe, disciplined and compassionate learning environments. They led with curiosity and enjoyed teaching what they know, which helped me engage more meaningfully with the material. They were also very knowledgable and experienced in their fields. I think a tutor can make a student feel more comfortable, heard, and be a safe place for accountability. A tutor can be someone that can help a student develop stronger discipline whilst fostering a joy for knowledge and learning.
