What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy watching people succeed. I remember last year in grade 12 where some of my peers would struggle with upcoming exams or assignments, i would teach them key topics or re-teach previous lessons to help them better understand the task. After attaining their desired marks they would come up and thank me which is why i really enjoy teaching people.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe that I am very passionate about the subjects that I teach in the sense that I enjoy teaching people about different subjects and I believe that no matter where a students capabilities lie I will be able to assist in one way or another.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
There are three things that I would consider to be the most important would be building confidence, providing clarity but also foster independent learning. Firstly, many students struggle, not because they lack ability but because doubt themselves, thus by acknowledging progress no matter how small will help students believe in their own potential. Secondly, tutors should also break down complex ideas into more simple ideas to ensure students truly understand the material at hand rather than memorizing it. Finally, tutors should also nurture students solving problems on their own.

Majed participated well in the goal-setting discussion and was honest about areas he wants to improve. In maths, he understood the idea of the denominator representing the total and was able to identify the numerator once guided through the reasoning. His confidence with basic fractions is slowly improving, and beginning to link fractions to probability made sense to him.
Majed still needs consistent practice with multiplication and division facts, as this affects his ability to simplify fractions independently. He also needs support applying fraction concepts without prompts. His next step is being able to explain the reasoning behind the numerator and denominator on his own. Continued focus and effort on his goals—especially paying attention in class and practicing regularly—will help him progress steadily.

Majed responded extremely well to the hands-on demonstrations. When asked to explain the concepts back to me, he showed a clear understanding of how height and speed affect each type of energy. He was able to correctly identify which situations showed kinetic energy and which showed potential energy.
Majed needs more practice explaining these concepts in his own words without relying on examples I give him. Strengthening his ability to rephrase and summarise ideas will help him remember the content more effectively and apply it independently in future lessons or assessments.

Majed understood the concept of outcomes very well and was able to link each dice number to a probability. He also showed good engagement in working out combined probabilities, and once he saw the pattern in the fractions, he began to understand how these numbers add up to represent different likelihoods.
He still needs more time to strengthen the foundational number skills behind probability (especially addition of fractions and understanding the denominator). Before moving into simplifying fractions or more complex problems, we will continue reinforcing the basics next lesson to make sure he has a solid understanding.

Majed showed good engagement when learning median and mode, and he was able to complete those questions with increasing confidence. He responded well to the step-by-step examples and could recognise patterns once the concepts were demonstrated visually.
He found mean difficult and required additional explanation. His understanding of averages is not yet secure, and he will need continued practice with basic addition and division to strengthen this area.
