What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy the most about building a connection with students not just teaching. It creates a space where they feel comfortable sharing ideas, asking questions, and even making mistakes without fear of judgment. That friendship aspect can really open up commnuication and make the learning process more relaxed and enjoyable.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I think my strengths as a tutor are my ability to be patient , adaptable, and supportive. I'm good at tailoring my approach to fit each student's unique needs. Taking my experience as a math tutor for 5 primary school kids as an example, I taught math through playing card games with them. I think it's a great way to engage students, especially those who might find traditional methods a bit dry or difficult.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Tutor should listen to the students. When I actively listen, I get a better understanding of where the students are struggling, what they're cuirous about, and how they learn best.

About zoe

Real-World Maths Application and Problem-Solving

Zoe brings a strong background in mechanical engineering, which translates into a practical approach to maths tutoring. She has hands-on experience guiding students through complex concepts, having privately tutored five primary school students to help them secure scholarships. Zoe’s knack for applying mathematical principles in real-world scenarios—like designing car models and analysing structures—means she can make lessons both engaging and highly relevant for young learners.

Personalised Tutoring Experience

This tutor stands out for her ability to adapt explanations to suit different learning styles, as demonstrated when supporting multiple siblings at various skill levels within the same family. Her bilingual skills in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin also allow her to connect with students from diverse backgrounds. By incorporating feedback from previous sessions and developing tailored resources, Zoe ensures that each student builds confidence and progresses at their own pace.

Passion for Inspiring Curiosity

Beyond textbook teaching, Zoe loves weaving creativity into her sessions by drawing on personal interests such as robotics competitions and hands-on projects like Lego pendulum control. She encourages curiosity by showing how maths can be fun and meaningful—whether it’s programming a robot or solving everyday challenges. Parents will appreciate her focus on making learning enjoyable while building solid foundations for future academic success.
