What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I tutored my two younger siblings throughout high school, and taught dance at my local dance school. With both teaching experiences, I most enjoyed witnessing my siblings/ students build confidence as their ability and trust in their own capability grew.
(I have selected that I don't currently have access to a car, but I should have access to my car within the next few weeks).
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
Going through maths questions with my siblings and explaining the correct technique for a specific skill to my ballet class, I have developed my ability to be adaptable when teaching, listen or pick up or what a student doesn't fully understanding, and find how to explain something in various ways. I feel I am a patient, empathic and supportive person and have strong organisation skills, which I believe are all required as a tutor.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Becoming familiar with how each student learns, so that I can adapt how I teach each student. Being patient, encouraging, and actively listen, and give affirmations as well as constructive feedback. Always doing preparation before each lesson, being reliable, and openly communicate (such as rescheduling a tutoring lesson in the event of a university exam clashing with a scheduled lesson time).

Mia brings hands-on experience from her role as an assistant ballet teacher, where she provided tailored instruction to students of varying abilities. She is skilled at identifying individual strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring that each learner feels confident exploring new concepts—even when mistakes are part of the journey. This foundation enables Mia to adapt her approach to maths and English tutoring, making complex ideas accessible and fostering a supportive environment for growth.
Clear Communication and Adaptive Explanations
As a workshop dance teacher, Mia regularly communicated challenging choreography in simple terms to groups ranging from younger children to older students. Her ability to break down complicated tasks and check in on student progress translates seamlessly into her tutoring sessions. Parents can expect their children will benefit from Mia’s patience, clear explanations, and willingness to adjust her teaching style according to individual learning needs.
Organisational Skills and Positive Motivation
Having coordinated events involving young learners and their families, Mia excels at keeping sessions organised while maintaining a positive atmosphere. She understands how important encouragement is—whether backstage at performances or during academic lessons—and uses affirmations alongside constructive feedback. With her passion for helping students overcome challenges, Mia offers tutoring that not only builds subject knowledge but also confidence and motivation.
