What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most about tutoring is seeing students grow in confidence and ability, especially when a concept finally clicks and they begin to enjoy the subject. It’s incredibly rewarding to know I’ve played a role in their development. I also genuinely enjoy working with children and value the opportunity to build a positive teacher–student relationship — one based on trust, patience, and encouragement — as I believe this connection helps students feel supported and more open to learning. That human connection is what makes tutoring meaningful for me.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My key strengths as a tutor include a strong passion for mathematics, a dedication to excellence, patience, and adaptability. I genuinely enjoy the subject and this enthusiasm translates into my teaching, helping to engage and motivate students. I am committed to doing my best in everything I undertake, and I bring this mindset to every tutoring session. I am also a patient educator who takes the time to ensure students fully understand the material. If a student is struggling, I persist and adjust my approach, seeking clearer or simpler ways to explain concepts to support their learning.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe one of the most important things a tutor can do is to be a mentor — someone who not only teaches the subject but also supports the student’s overall growth and confidence. A tutor should create a safe and encouraging space where students feel comfortable asking questions and expressing when they’re struggling. When that trust is established, students become more engaged and take greater ownership of their learning.

About kaylen
Bringing Maths to Life with Real-World Experience
Kaylen brings a fresh and relatable approach to tutoring, drawing on his academic success in higher-level maths and economics as well as hands-on experience supporting younger cousins with their studies. He believes that maths is not just about numbers, but about building confidence and enjoying the journey of problem-solving. By using real-life examples and analogies, he helps students see how mathematical thinking applies beyond the classroom.
Leadership and Teamwork Skills Developed Beyond the Classroom
Having captained a rugby team to second place and served in demanding roles during national service, this tutor knows the value of discipline, resilience, and effective communication. These experiences have shaped his ability to motivate young learners and create supportive learning environments where students feel encouraged to ask questions and overcome challenges at their own pace.
Personalised Support Tailored to Each Student’s Needs
As someone who has navigated both academic rigour and extracurricular commitments, Kaylen understands that every student learns differently. He takes pride in adapting explanations for individual needs—whether through step-by-step guidance or creating an open space for mistakes—helping each child build curiosity, self-belief, and a lasting interest in maths. Parents can trust him to bring patience, empathy, and a genuine enthusiasm for seeing students grow.
