What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

Playing an active role in a student's development is incredibly rewarding. Being able to help someone achieve a goal and watching their progress over time is very fulfilling, and seeing their confidence increase can, honestly, be inspirational, and push me to achieve my personal goals too–there is a lot to learn from both the mentor and mentee!

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I truly believe that everyone just wants to be heard and understood. With that as one of my core values, my communication skills are perhaps my biggest strength–I try as hard as I can to listen and inquire further into what someone has told me, and understand the importance of building strong rapport with anyone I meet. Outside of communication, I pride myself on my organisation and my ability to support others with their goals–I am always looking out for people, offering them support whether it be through myself or guiding them to external measures.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The three most important things when it comes to tutoring, outside of respect (which is a given), is being patient, flexible, and consistent. We have all been students! And every single one of us has made mistakes–whether it be failing a test, getting a question wrong in an exam, saying the wrong thing to someone–we all have moments we wish we could change. When a student makes a mistake, therefore, being empathetic and patient is of great importance. Being able to adjust teaching methods may help to overcome mistakes, especially if they are repeated. But practice makes perfect!
