What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
The thing I enjoy most about tutoring is how it presents a win-win situation for both the tutor and the tutee. As I support the growth of the tutee's knowledge and skills in the subject they are learning, I can grow as well in different ways through improvements in my communication and preparation skills, ensuring that the quality of the tutoring remains consistently high. Thus, I enjoy how tutoring is beneficial for all the parties involved.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
One of my strengths as a tutor is the ability to analytically breakdown topics to provide a step-by-step explanation to tutees, which is useful in teaching tutees certain methods for solving math problems, as well as discuss topics in other subjects where a cause and effect framework is relevant. Another strength that I have as a tutor is adapting to the tutee's current state of progress in school. For example, I need to be mindful that some topics are taught differently in local schools compared to my international high school, so it is necessary to adapt how I teach certain topics.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important thing a tutor can and should do for a tutee is to prepare content according to their needs and preferences when learning. This is done through thorough preparation before each session, communicating with either the student or parent to understand what the student wishes to learn or practice during upcoming sessions, allowing for the tutoring session to be as efficient as possible for the tutee's growth.
