What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy most about tutoring is watching that lightbulb moment when something finally clicks for a student; it's genuinely magical! There's something incredibly rewarding about helping someone go from confused or unsure to confident and even excited about a subject they once struggled with. I love being part of that transformation.
I also really enjoy building strong rapport with students. Every learner is different, so I get to tailor my approach, whether it's using fun analogies, simplifying concepts, or just being a steady, encouraging presence. It's never boring!
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
One of my biggest strengths as a tutor is making complex ideas simple and fun. I love using creative explanations, analogies, visuals, or a bit of humour to help students get the content. I'm also super patient and positive, which helps students feel comfortable asking questions and staying motivated.
I adapt quickly to different learning styles and always aim to create a supportive space where students feel confident and encouraged. Most of all, I genuinely care about helping them succeed and enjoy the learning process along the way!
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important thing a tutor can do is build a student's confidence and make learning feel approachable. When students feel supported and understood, they're far more likely to engage, ask questions, and take risks, which is where real growth happens! A great tutor doesn't just explain the content clearly; they also adapt to the student's learning style and pace, making each session feel personal and encouraging.
It’s also about creating a space where mistakes are okay and part of the process. When students stop fearing failure and start feeling proud of their progress, even small.

About Sharon
About Me
I’m a first-year Biomedical Science student at Notre Dame University, recently relocated from Orange to Sydney to pursue my studies. I’ve always loved helping others learn and find it incredibly rewarding to watch students grow in both skill and confidence. Tutoring is a natural fit for me; it combines my academic strengths with my passion for supporting others.
Why I Tutor
I believe every student can succeed with the right guidance and mindset. I focus on making learning feel less intimidating by breaking down complex ideas into clear, manageable steps. I’m patient, encouraging, and love tailoring my approach to match each student’s unique learning style. I don’t just aim to improve marks, I want students to feel proud of their progress and confident in their ability to learn.
Subjects I Tutor
I tutor Science, Maths, and History (Modern and Ancient). These are subjects I not only perform well in but genuinely enjoy teaching. My science and maths knowledge is strengthened by my university studies, and I love helping students see how these subjects apply to the real world. I also have a passion for history and enjoy making it engaging by helping students connect the dots and see the bigger picture.

The larger numbers require more practice with the times table; it will become easier. The student needs more practice remembering the text as they read to apply the memory to the text questions, but overall did really well.
