What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What I enjoy about tutoring is seeing that moment when a student 'gets it', when a concept that once seemed confusing suddenly clicks. I find it incredibly rewarding to be a part of that learning journey. Coming from a background in software engineering, I've always enjoyed breaking down complex problems into simpler, logical steps. As a peer mentor at university, I discovered how fulfilling it is to use that same skill to support others, especially in subjects like maths. Tutoring gives me the chance to not only teach but to build confidence in students and help them develop skills for life.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
What I enjoy most about tutoring is helping students build confidence in themselves. It's really rewarding to see a student go from feeling unsure to mastering a concept and feeling proud of their progress. I love being a part of that growth. I also enjoy finding different ways to explain ideas until they make sense to each student as every learner is unique, and it's exciting to figure out what works best for them.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think the most important things a tutor can do for a student are to build their confidence, create a safe and supporting environment, and adapt their teaching to suit the student's individual needs. Its not just about helping them get the right answers, its about helping them how to think through problems, and encouraging a mindset where they feel capable and motivated to learn on their own. A great tutor also listens closely, is patient, and celebrates the small wins to keep students engaged and growing.
