What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I find tutoring immensely fulfilling when that one thing a student cannot understand about a subject clicks in their head, and I help them get that understanding. I feel proud of myself and the student.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I have lots of experience with kids. I have taught kids basketball teams and baby sat little cousins many times throughout my life. Strong STEM subject skills. I already have tutoring experience. I currently teach calculus at university to fellow students, pairing this with my experience with kids I have skills that are great for tutoring primary and Highschool students.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Breaking down complexity into simple things. A lot of ATAR math and physics questions can seem overwhelming; however, developing the skill to make the questions more digestible for the student can make all the scary stuff look a lot less scary. Building confidence and Independence. Making students believe in themselves and changing their thinking from I can't do this to can try this is a very important thing to me. Many people underestimate themselves, and this is most prevalent in high school and primary school kids.

About Noah

Methodology

Breaking Questions Down – I help students carefully unpack questions so they understand what is being asked and how to approach it, step by step. Active Recall & Practice – For STEM subjects especially, I use active recall and regular practice, encouraging students to solve problems until the process feels like second nature. Confidence Building – I celebrate progress at every stage, because confidence grows when students see their own improvement. Independence as the Goal – Every session is designed to give students the tools to learn without relying on me. My role is to guide, support, and equip them — not to provide answers, but to help them discover how to find answers themselves. For Students You’ll find that tutoring with me is supportive, encouraging, and focused on making learning easier to manage. I’ll challenge you, but I’ll also make sure you feel capable and confident. For Parents I am committed to helping your child develop lasting academic skills. You’ll see steady progress in both their understanding of the subject matter and their ability to learn independently. My ultimate goal is to prepare them so thoroughly that tutoring becomes unnecessary.

Philosophy

My goal as a tutor is to build independence and confidence in every student I work with. I believe learning is most powerful when students truly understand what is being asked of them, so I focus on breaking questions down into clear, manageable steps. For STEM subjects, I use active recall and plenty of practice until problem-solving becomes second nature — like muscle memory. Ultimately, I am basically trying to work myself out of a job. If a student no longer needs me because they can approach challenges on their own with clarity and confidence, then we’ve achieved real success.

Experience with kids and tutoring

I have experience working with children through coaching a kids’ basketball team (including players with autism and ADHD), volunteering at the community library’s reading program, and spending time with younger family members who have special needs. I currently tutor math at all levels — from building strong foundations to peer-to-peer calculus tutoring at Murdoch University.
