What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

What I enjoy most about tutoring is building meaningful connections with students. I love being able to support their academic journey and also provide mentorship, just as my own tutors did for me. Helping students gain confidence, overcome challenges, and reach their full potential is incredibly rewarding.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

My strengths as a tutor lie in my ability to identify and understand each student's unique personality and learning style. I am supportive, easy-going, and approachable, which helps students feel comfortable and open to asking questions. I aim to provide personalised guidance and mentorship, while making learning both productive and enjoyable.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

I believe the most important things a tutor can do for a student are to teach subject matter clearly by understanding the learning patterns and needs of each student, offering guidance that brings out each student's strengths and helps them shine, be understanding and approachable, so students feel supported, act as a mentor, helping students navigate both academic and personal challenges. And I believe that it is essential to create a positive and trusting relationship, so students feel empowered to achieve their best.

About Hiruni

About me

Hello, my name is Hiruni, and I am a second-year PhD candidate in Applied Chemistry at RMIT University. My research focuses on understanding nanoscale materials and exploring how they can be manipulated for enhanced energy production and storage. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering at Monash University, where I discovered my passion for teaching. Since then, I have been tutoring undergraduate students in mathematics and chemistry and greatly enjoy helping others make sense of complex topics. Outside of academics, I am an avid reader, a huge animal lover, and spend my weekends either burying myself in a good book or hiking with my dog. I look forward to supporting your learning journey and helping you achieve your academic goals!
