One thing i enjoy the most about tutoring is being able to know that my help is improving a students work, increasing their work ethic and being their to motivate them to improve and work hard in school to achieve results to the best of their ability. A key strength I believe I have is my outgoing and friendly personality. I believe having a welcoming and warm personality is what enables me to connect with my students. I am able to create a deep connection with my students rather than a formal student - teacher relationship. Another strength as a tutor is patience. I understand that students learn at different speeds, and I’m comfortable explaining a concept in multiple ways until it clicks. I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is help students become independent learners. Instead of just giving answers, a tutor should guide students through the thinking process so they can eventually solve problems on their own.
