What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy being able to help students achieve their goals and feel confident in their work. I know that when I was younger, a good tutor that helped me feel confident and achieve well made a huge amount of difference for me, and I want students to be able to have that.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think I am friendly and easy to talk to, I understand what it's like to be in their shoes (as it hasn't been long since I was their age, and I still struggle with my studies), so I can relate to them easily. I also think I am patient and an effective communicator. I have experience working with kids and tutoring my younger brother. Overall, I think I provide a fun and encouraging learning environment.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I think tutoring is about confidence just as much as academic ability and performance. I believe a good tutor not only teaches the content and helps the student to learn, but also encourages them to feel confident in themselves and their work, and motivated to do their best. I believe the secret to academic success is confidence, especially confidence to fail and try again. I think tutoring should be a fun experience that allows them to enjoy school and feel like they're good at it.

About Sarah
Confident Maths Support from a Science Student
Sarah is a Science undergraduate who brings strong maths skills and real-world study experience to her tutoring. She currently tutors her younger brother in maths and physics, helping him break down tricky topics, prepare for tests and stick to realistic study plans. This tutor understands the school curriculum from a student’s perspective and explains concepts in clear, simple steps, making sure each session ends with the student feeling more confident and better prepared.
Experienced Youth Coach Who Knows How to Motivate
As a long-term junior netball coach, Sarah has planned and led training sessions for students of different ages and abilities. She is used to turning “I can’t do this” into “I’ll give it a go” by breaking skills into manageable parts and celebrating small wins. This coaching background means she is patient, encouraging and firm when needed, helping children stay focused while still enjoying the learning process.
Structured, Friendly Sessions Tailored to Each Student
Sarah combines her coaching experience and current university studies to design lessons that feel organised but not overwhelming. She creates simple goal-based plans, uses practice questions to track progress and teaches students how to approach problems step by step rather than just memorising answers. This tutor is approachable and easy to talk to, so students feel comfortable asking questions and parents can trust that sessions are purposeful, calm and well planned.
