What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy being able to see progress in the learning of my students.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

My strength is my calm and friendly approach. I enjoy breaking complex concepts into smaller steps for student's to grasp. I also like working on gaps in understanding by asking students questions on where they're struggling.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

I think the most important thing a tutor can do is help students gain clarity in the concepts they don't understand well from school. And practice is key. And in math I think it's important as a tutor to make math fun for students, and help them understand formulas and equations in a fun, comprehensive and easy way rather than just to memorize everything.

Rifa is a science-focused tutor with a Master of Medical Science and a strong background in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Neuroscience. She has studied topics such as genetics, chemical reactions, motion, human anatomy and statistics, giving her the depth to explain tricky school concepts with confidence. Currently preparing to undertake formal secondary teaching training in Science and Health, she understands how school curricula progress from Year 7 to Year 12 and aligns her support with what students are actually assessed on.

Clear Explanations and Exam-Focused Support

This tutor is skilled at breaking down complex ideas into simple, step-by-step explanations, whether it’s algebraic reasoning, chemical equations or physics problems. Drawing on her experience analysing real scientific data and performing lab techniques like PCR and ELISA, she shows students how theory connects to real-world examples, which keeps lessons engaging and memorable. Rifa plans lessons with a clear structure, builds in exam-style questions, and helps students develop study skills and exam strategies that improve both confidence and performance.

Patient, Personable and Culturally Aware Educator

Rifa brings a calm, patient manner to every session and is used to supporting people from diverse backgrounds through her volunteering and leadership roles, including serving as a university society secretary and participating in Model United Nations.
