What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I find tutoring highly rewarding as it allows me to support students in building both their confidence and academic ability. Seeing long-term improvements in a student’s understanding, grades, and study habits is incredibly fulfilling. I value the strong student–tutor relationships that develop over time, as they contribute to a positive and enjoyable learning experience for both the student and myself.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe my key strengths as a tutor are patience, clear communication, and adaptability. I am skilled at breaking down complex mathematical concepts into simple, manageable steps, allowing students to build confidence and understanding progressively. Through my experience working with children, I have developed strong interpersonal skills and the ability to create a supportive, engaging, and encouraging learning environment tailored to each student’s needs.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important role of a tutor is to create a safe and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from mistakes. By adapting explanations to suit each student’s individual learning style and encouraging consistent effort, I aim to foster both academic growth and intrinsic motivation. My goal is to help students become more independent and confident learners.

About Tobi
My mission
I am a dedicated and enthusiastic tutor with a strong passion for mathematics and education. I enjoy working closely with students to help them overcome challenges and reach their academic goals. With a patient and approachable teaching style, I strive to make learning both accessible and enjoyable. I am committed to building positive relationships with my students and supporting them in developing confidence, resilience, and effective study habits that extend beyond the classroom.
Hands-On Experience Working with Children of All Ages
Tobi has extensive experience as an out-of-school-hours care educator and babysitter, regularly supporting children from 9 months to early teens. He manages homework time, routines and behaviour in busy group settings, while keeping activities engaging and age-appropriate. This background means he is confident building rapport quickly, keeping students on task, and creating a calm, positive learning environment where children feel safe to ask questions and make mistakes as they learn.
Patient Communicator Who Makes Learning Practical and Relatable
Through his work leading play-based learning activities and supervising mixed-age groups, Tobi has developed a clear, patient communication style that suits both primary and high school students. He often turns everyday situations into simple problem-solving or numeracy challenges, helping students see how maths and science connect to real life. This tutor focuses on step-by-step explanations, checking for understanding, and adapting his approach to each child’s personality so lessons stay focused, enjoyable and effective.
