What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I believe that tutoring is a fundamental part of a student's learning journey. Being able to support students as they move from confusion to confidence is something I find especially rewarding. I also enjoy adapting my explanations to suit different learning styles and seeing the progress students make over time.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

Even though I don't have formal tutoring experience yet, I believe that I have several strengths that would make me an effective tutor. I'm patient and willing to take the time to explain concepts clearly. I'm also a good communicator and can break down complex ideas into simpler, more understandable steps.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I believe the most important things a tutor can do for a student are to build their understanding, confidence, and independence. A tutor should explain concepts clearly and break them down in a way that makes sense to the student. It's also vital to be patient and supporting, creating a comfortable environment where the student feels confident asking questions without judgement.

About Angel

Confident Communicator with Strong School Achievement

Angel is a recent high school graduate who brings strong communication and critical thinking skills, recognised through a school debating achievement award and active membership in the debating club. These experiences mean she is comfortable explaining ideas clearly, helping students break down tricky English and humanities tasks into manageable steps. Her Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award and commitment and diligence award highlight her reliability and perseverance, qualities that translate into steady, patient support for students who need extra encouragement and structure.

Hands-On Experience Working with Children

Through her role in a children’s café, Angel has spent significant time engaging young children in safe, fun activities while communicating closely with families. This gives her practical insight into how younger students think, play and learn, and how to keep them focused without losing the sense of fun. She has also completed a Working With Children Check, reassuring parents that she understands her responsibilities and can create a calm, respectful environment where primary and lower high school students feel comfortable asking questions.

Relatable Role Model with Diverse Interests

Angel connects easily with young people, drawing on her interests in sport, photography and video editing to make lessons more relatable. She enjoys using real-life examples, such as analysing a favourite video clip for persuasive language or using sports scores to practise basic maths. Her community volunteering experience shows she is empathetic and community-minded, while being bilingual in English and Filipino helps her communicate sensitively with students from different backgrounds and support those building confidence in English.
