What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I really enjoy the process of working with different students and figuring out what style works best for them. Whether it’s visual diagrams, stepbystep explanations, or realworld examples. Every student learns differently, and I like adapting my approach to match that. Most of all, tutoring lets me share my passion for maths and science. Helping someone else feel that same sense of curiosity is something I genuinely find fulfilling.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

One of my biggest strengths as a tutor is my ability to break down complex ideas into simple steps. I enjoy finding the logic behind a problem and explaining it in a way that actually makes sense to the student, not just repeating the textbook. Another strength is that I genuinely enjoy maths and science, and that enthusiasm comes through when I teach. Students pick up on that energy, and it helps them feel more engaged and motivated. Finally, I’m very approachable and supportive. I know how important it is for students to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and trying again.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

I think the most important thing a tutor can do is create an environment where the student feels comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. Learning only really happens when a student feels safe and understood so building that trust is essential.

About Arvind

High-achieving maths and science specialist who understands school pressures

Arvind is a high-performing engineering student with an ATAR in the high 90s and consistently strong results across Mathematical Methods, Specialist Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English. He has repeatedly placed in the top bands of national maths, science and chemistry competitions, including multiple distinctions and high distinctions. Having recently completed VCE himself, this tutor clearly remembers the pressures, tricky exam wording and assessment styles students face, and uses that insight to explain concepts in a way that feels practical and achievable.

Proven experience teaching primary students core maths skills

Through a “Mini-Mathematicians” program, Arvind has worked weekly with upper primary students from a range of schools, helping them build confidence with number skills, problem-solving and early algebra. He is used to breaking down challenging ideas into simple, step-by-step explanations and using real-world examples to keep younger learners engaged. This tutor focuses on building strong foundations, checking for understanding regularly, and turning mistakes into learning moments rather than stress points.

Structured, exam-smart support for high school and VCE learners

For high school students, Arvind brings a very practical, exam-focused approach. He draws on his own experience of achieving strong raw scores in VCE subjects to teach students how to unpack complex questions, show working clearly and avoid common errors. He likes to use past competition and exam-style problems to stretch capable students while still ensuring that core skills are rock solid. This tutor’s calm, organised style helps students plan their study, manage time under pressure and walk into tests feeling prepared rather than overwhelmed.
