What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I like helping others and seeing them gain confidence in their abilities. It’s rewarding to watch students understand something they previously struggled with and realize their own potential.

My Strengths as Tutor πŸ’ͺ

My strengths include patience, clear communication, and the ability to adapt my teaching style to each students needs. I take the time to explain concepts in different ways until they make sense, and I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions.

Most important things I can do for a student πŸ…

A tutor should build a student’s confidence, encourage independent thinking, and make learning engaging. It’s important to not only help students understand the material but also teach them how to approach problems on their own and develop strong study habits.

About Elijah

Emerging STEM Tutor with Strong School Leadership Experience

Elijah is a science and computing student who finished school with a solid grounding in Maths, Science and Technology, and is now extending this at university. As Vice College Captain, he regularly represented students in school-wide decisions, giving him a clear understanding of how to communicate with young people and teachers alike. He brings this insight into tutoring, explaining concepts in a way that feels approachable while still aiming high, especially for students who may be unsure about STEM subjects.

Confident Communicator Who Makes Lessons Engaging

Through leading whole-school chapel services and coordinating large school events, Elijah has spent many hours speaking in front of students from early primary through to senior years. He is comfortable guiding groups, breaking ideas down into simple steps, and keeping younger students focused with clear structure. As a worship leader for a youth group, he plans and runs regular sessions, showing he can design engaging, age-appropriate activities that help students stay interested and involved in their learning.

Organised, Reliable and Relatable Role Model

Balancing university studies, his own small business and community leadership has given Elijah strong time-management and planning skills, which flow directly into well-prepared, punctual tutoring sessions. He is used to working one-on-one with clients in his business, listening carefully to what they need and adjusting his approach. Outside of study he enjoys fitness, outdoor activities and technology, helping him connect with students on a personal level while modelling discipline, persistence and a practical, problem-solving mindset.
