What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Something that I enjoy most about tutoring is when I receive text messages from the kids or their parents expressing their gratitude towards me after receiving their test/exam results telling me about how they achieved their desired grade. Sometimes, even if you are no longer their tutor, they will still message you from time to time to thank you for the useful tips and tricks that you have given them, which still helps them a lot even after a few years. There is a sense of accomplishment in knowing that you were one of the few who has helped them to get their desired results.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think that two of the most important traits in being a tutor is to be patient and approachable. A student should always feel comfortable with their tutor. Besides that, I think that another important trait to have is being able to adapt to unexpected situations. If the kid does not get what you are trying to teach them, you have to try and think of another way to explain it to them in a more simpler manner or in a way that is more suited to their understanding. This is because not everyone has the same way of thinking. I believe that these are my strengths as a tutor.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
As a tutor, our goal is not only for our students to pass the subject, we also want our students to reach their full potential. We can do so by giving our students our support, and giving them time to digest what they have learnt from the lesson. We can let them know that it is normal to struggle at first especially if it is a new topic but with lots practice and determination, they will be able to understand the topic in no time.
