What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy communicating and helping students in an area that I am strong in and was fortunate to acquire lot of knowledge in. I have always been passionate about numbers and data since childhood. This is evident in my completion of Bachelors of Science (Honours) in Applied Mathematics followed by Master of Data Analytics both at RMIT University. I am also a Certified Data Scientist from the Certificate of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Course run by Institute of Data.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am very organised, committed and punctual with my teaching. I always make my classes interesting and attract the attention of students.
Explaining concepts in a manner that enables students to understand it quicker is my strong point.
I am a very patient tutor and am willing to answer any questions that students may have difficulty with,
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A tutor must be approachable and accessible anytime to students who are in need of help. Tutor must enjoy their teaching and help students achieve their potential. They must make a difference in the student's learning and nurture their progress. A tutor must be patient anytime and learn to handle students of different calibre in the subject they are teaching.
A tutor must also provide proper feedback to the student and ensure they are acting on it so that they see improvement.

Panayioti mentioned he did well in last week's homework on data analytics. Today's focus was on financial mathematics. Panayioti was provided tutorial handouts and an exercise sheet to do as revision. Panayioti felt more confident and comfortable after the class about the topic. I have informed Panayioti to contact me immediately for any questions or clarifications on the handouts or exercise sheets.
As for next class, will be recapping all topics/concepts covered in classes till date.

Went very well. We went through Panayioti's homework questions on data analytics from school. I supplied him some tutorial handouts on this topic. Most important part was helping Panyioti understand what to look for when approaching such questions. This was further assisted by further real life examples.
Next class, we will be focusing on financial mathematics and what is required.

Being the final class, we went through past papers and how to tackle such questions. Zaki has been advised the importance of highlighting/circling/underlining key words for the questions and showing correct working to obtain the right answer.
Zaki has also been advised the importance of keeping track of the time and when doing the exam to address time management. If exam is over before allocated time, Zaki has been informed to check his working. For any final questions after today's class, I have told Zaki to contact me should he have any last round of questions. He is more than welcome to discuss with me how he went in his exam. All the best, Zaki for exams and beyond school!!! Been a pleasure teaching you. May you get into what you want. Best wishes.
Went through past paper and trial exam questions. We spent time on financial maths and network questions. Zaki now gets the hang of it.

I have advised Zaki to underline key words and unpack the question carefully for the exam. Remaining classes will be spent for exam revision.
