A tutor can make a student stress free by making learning so easy and interesting , that a student enjoy learning rather than running away from it. And obviously achieve good grades. A tutor can do many things, but the most important one is give their students the confidence to apply what they have learned to the best of their ability. You can guide a student through a dozen practice questions, but ultimately, it is more important that they see the work as approachable and not impossible to do by themselves. As a tutor I am…

I feel the most important thing for any tutor is to be able to communicate with its student effectively. A tutor should not make an assumption that just because students do not have any questions, they are understanding the topic. It is important to go around the class and ask questions individually to check on the understanding. Teaching has…

I consider understanding the student's problems and establishing a strong rapport to be the most important things. Getting started with a EzyMath Tutor was very easy for us, after the initial online request by us the rest was proactive by the EzyMath office. The tutors we had were very friendly, with each having their own tricks to help my son understands what he couldn't at school.

Inside ViewbankTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 6 student Zoe worked on converting between fractions and decimals, as well as tackling geometry problems involving three-dimensional shapes like prisms and pyramids.

In Year 7, Alex focused on algebra from Chapter 4 of the Edrolo textbook and practiced solving equations using different techniques.

Meanwhile, Year 8 student Maya prepared for a probability and statistical analysis test, working through practice questions to strengthen her understanding of data interpretation.

Recent Challenges

A Year 8 student in mathematics often left homework incomplete, which meant "basic and elementary concepts were still foreign" during lessons—key gaps appeared when new algebra content was introduced.

For a Year 10 class, lack of attention span made it hard to interpret questions correctly; as one tutor observed, "he missed what the question was really asking," leading to avoidable errors.

In senior years, messy handwriting and reluctance to show working led to confusion when revisiting problems.

When homework is neglected or rushed, progress stalls and confidence dips during revision before tests.

Recent Achievements

One Viewbank tutor noticed a Year 8 student who, after struggling with basic fraction addition, now solves algebraic equations independently—a big step up from earlier sessions.

In a recent high school session, two brothers who often hesitated to participate began enthusiastically competing to answer percentage questions first, showing much more initiative than before.

Meanwhile, a Year 4 student who previously lost focus easily managed to read through his homework and tackle tricky decimal problems on his own; he finished the final set of calculations without needing any reminders.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Rosanna Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Viewbank Primary School.
